Seasonal Produce – July

Hello July and hello four day weekend!!! I’ve been thinking about what to do this coming weekend for awhile now and it has not been an easy decision. How does one choose between Zion, Sedona, Albuquerque, Kings Canyon, the California coast, and the Grand Canyon to name a few? It’s way harder than it sounds. I’m leaning towards the California coast between LA and San Luis Obispo. It’s a place that I haven’t really explored much. There have been way too many trips through the central valley for me to count in the last few years and that needs to change. Plus, the weather should be pretty nice with no 100+ degree days unlike the desert. There’s a lot of hiking and camping along the way and it’ll be nice to step away for a few days and cook hotdogs and drink  beer around a campfire. There will also be plenty of opportunities to stop at small roadside stands to pick up super fresh produce and eat myself silly on apricots, avocadoes, peaches, pears, melons, you name it. We Californian’s have it lucky when it comes to access to some of the best produce in the world. So, get out there and try new things or pick up some old favorites. The summer season is underway and I’m off to check it out.
