It’s been months since Abby, Lexi, and I went to Malibu to take in some ocean views. I thought Charmlee Wilderness Park would be a perfect place for us to stretch our legs. It is 590 acres of what some would call the best of the Santa Monica Mountains Coastal Slope environment. The park includes picnic areas, eight miles of interwoven hiking trails, native plant displays, historic ranch ruins, local wildlife, and a nature center. While we didn’t actually catch any views of the ocean thanks to some coastal fog, we did see plenty of wildlife.
How to get there: Plug in 2577 S. Encinal Canyon Road, Malibu, CA to your GPS and away you go. There’s a $4 day use park fee.
