Carrot & Oat Dog Drop Biscuits

A few days ago I picked up a bag of carrots while at the store with the great idea that I would come home and make dog biscuits that evening. Let’ s just say that didn’t happen. I got sidetracked and made them early this afternoon instead. They seem to have been a huge hit too. They’ve been following me around ever since.

These are super easy to make and if you’re like me you can also manage to tackle other things around the house while they’re baking. Nothing like sanding down the bedside tables and listening to Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life on audiobook while waiting.

Ingredients

1/2 c carrot juice

1/2 c carrot pulp

1/2 c unsweetened apple sauce

2 tbsp peanut butter

1 tbsp coconut oil

2 eggs

1 1/2 c flour

1/2 c cornmeal

1/2 c oats

Preparation

Preheat the over to 375 and grease up a cookie sheet. Juice up a bag of carrots and save any remaining leftovers for other kitchen adventures. Next, you’ll combine all of the ingredients together into a sticky mess in a medium sized bowl. Drop small little piles of batter on the cookie sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes. Let them cook completely before giving them to your furry family members. They will thank you for it.

Cheers-

Susan
